Shopping experience

Tonight Cori is at a school dance. Let me tell you how the afternoon started. She comes home from school and of course thinks it necessary to get a new outfit for the dance. So off we go shopping. On the way, she is talking to her friend and as we walk into Aeropostle, she exclaims "Lauren, I have to let you go, I see a big sale". Uh-oh. I don't know who she might get that from? So before they hang up, Lauren tells Cori that she has to wear pink. They all have to be in sync you know. So off we go searching for pink. Now anyone who knows Cori knows that pink is a huge step for her, but she's changing everyday. So we managed to get a pink! shirt with even a few sparkles, a brown sequined cami, a brown, pink! and green striped belt, two brown and pink! necklaces, lots of brown and pink! bracelets, hoop earrings and a green hat. Cori has also been wanting to get a pair of ultra faded jeans and some Ecko shoes. So she figured what the heck and got those also to complete the outfit. I love the shoes; they are brown and pink! and luckily we wear the same size. She spent her own allowance and found some really good deals. We had a great time together. It only took a record one hour and 5 stores, not bad! Of course we ended the evening with our traditional Starbucks run and now I am about to pick her up from the dance.
How did she turn out? Take a look.

Basketball game

Tonight Cori had a basketball game. They did not win this one but Cori scored exactly 2/3 of the points. Go Cori! We love watching her play. She plays center and is excellent. Her height serves her well also. She is 5 1/2 feet now! Her and her dad practice several times a week. She is always looking to him for advice during the game. Her brother sits in his car seat for the whole hour and is fascinated watching the court. We are very fortunate that we are able to make every game and that Aaron can have such flexability at work. Many games, like this one, are over an hour away from home. Tonight, Cori wanted to ride the bus home with her friends. When they got back to school, one of her friend's parents pulled up in a limo to pick her up and the chauffeur held the door for her. Cori thought that was way cool she says. Just a couple more basketball games and then its on to track for her.

Cereal

OK, so Bryson's doctor wants his babies not to have any cereal until they are 6 months. However, Bryson's mom and dad would love if he slept through the night just once; he still wakes up every 2-3 hours. We thought if he had just a little cereal before bed he may sleep longer. So we gave him a little last night, sshhhhh, don't tell. He loved it! He opened his mouth each time eagerly wanting another spoonful. Then he still woke up during his normal times in the middle of the night. Oh well. This evening at dinner, I was holding him while I was eating and he was trying to grab the food off my plate and he was smacking his lips together. I think we have created a hungry monster.

4 month checkup

Bryson went in yesterday for his 4 month checkup. The nurse gave him a yummy immunization that he got to drink and tasted sweet. He really was digging her until she stuck him 4 times with shots. That was not so much his favorite. But just like his 2 month checkup, he handled it well. He only cried for a minute. We had to wait for 2 hours before we ever went back to the doctor therefore he was already tired and hungry by then. Though luckily he fell asleep fast after shot time. He weighed in at a whopping 15 lbs 6 oz and is already 25 1/2 inches long! He is getting so big already and time is flying by too fast.

New toys

Bryson has discovered new toys this week. The first was a Christmas present from his uncle Matt. Bryson loves his Johnny Jump-Up. Can't you tell? He has always had strong legs and loves to stand and jump up and down on his mommy or daddy's lap. However, so far he just spins around in circles. I know it won't be long before he is jumping like crazy. He learns quick! I just hope our doorframes hold up, our house turns 100 years old this year.

Bryson's second new toy is his activity center. His sister loves playing with him while he is sitting in here. She likes to teach him how to make the balls go through the shute. Bryson's favorite part is to spin the ferris wheel. He likes that more than the parts that light up and play music. It's the simple things I guess. His legs don't quite touch the bottom yet so he gets to rest them on a phonebook.

Burrrrrrr

The biggest news of this week was that we got snow! Cori liked this because she had no school on Wednesday. That with the holiday on Monday made for a short week for her. It has been quite awhile since she has experienced a "snow day". Her basketball game was cancelled though so that bummed her out a little. However, she did look forward to making a snowman. Unfortunately, she made about a 1" snowball which quickly melted. It seemed it was more slush than snow. Aaron had to take his monthly 2 day trip to San Antonio and ended up having to stay an extra night. Everything was closed, it seems Texas does not know what to do with ice or snow.

Welcome

Hello everyone. We thought we would try a new way to keep everyone updated on our happenings. As computer savvy as Aaron and I are, we have no "blog" experience. However, one of our friends sent us a link to her family blog in her Christmas newsletter and it sounded like a wonderful idea! So here goes. We will try to update it on a weekly basis.
